Mark S. Peterson

Mark S. Peterson is a nationally published, award-winning photographic artist based in Ames, Iowa. This website showcases his fine art nature, landscape and global travel images, which explore the beauty of the natural landscape, the details of the natural world, and the icons that define cultures and locations. Mark's hope is that his nature and travel photographs will foster within the viewer a growing appreciation for the Earth's natural beauty and for the diverse cultures of our world.

Peterson's fine art, editorial, and commercial photography has appeared in books, magazines, national advertising campaigns, corporate and non-profit annual reports and websites. His photographs have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in art galleries and public spaces around the Midwest, and appear in private, corporate, and university collections in the U.S. and Europe.

Peterson is also an experienced educator, having taught college-level coursework for a number of years, and along with his dedicated and experienced team offer a full menu of classroom and field photography workshops and photo tours. He is a regular speaker at camera club meetings, and has served as a juror for photography exhibits, contests, e-commerce web portals, and salons.
