HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Thanks for your support and for your interest in my work in 2009.  It was a great year, and I'm looking forward to an exciting 2010! Many projects are underfoot, including solid progress on an all-new website and blog, and art festival jury applications for 2010 shows are starting to arrive.

UPCOMING EVENTS

January 29 - April 3, 2010 ~ My new image "Approaching Storm" will be exhibited in the 42st Annual National Clay, Fiber, Paper, Glass, Metal, Wood Exhibition, at Octagon Center for the Arts, Ames, Iowa.  This photograph joins 77 other works of art created by 55 artists from 13 states, for this annual juried exhibit.  Exhibit opening is January 29th.

RECENT EVENTS

Autumn Color Field Workshop ~ Many thanks to the great group of photographers who joined me for my October field photography workshop at Ledges State Park near Des Moines, Iowa.  Hope you had a great time! 2010 workshop events will be announced on my Workshops page late-winter.

Living History Farms 4th Annual Photography Day

UPDATE ~ What a fun day, with over 800 photographers joining us for this 4th Annual event!  Classroom sessions were standing room only!  Photographers, no matter what level of experience: if you're located in this area, you should join us for this exciting event next year!  I've copied the text from LHF's info flyer about the 2009 event here, and my gallery from one of the past years is here.  We're already planning next year's 5th Annual Photography Day, with many changes and additions to come. Watch my site for info, and plan to join us in September 2010!

newNEW PERMANENT EXHIBIT

I'm excited to announce August 2009 installation of a new permanent exhibit of 11 of my photographs in Iowa's 4th Congressional District Offices of Congressman Tom Latham, Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, DC.  See press release here.

WEB UPDATES

If you visit this site often, you've noticed that updates to the image galleries have been scarce.  It's been an incredibly busy year at Mark S. Peterson Photography - I have many new images!  However, in my limited unscheduled time, behind the scenes I have been working on a full new website and blog, that will offer a strong improvement over the current site design and galleries.  Stay tuned!!

TWITTER

I've recently joined Twitter, though I'm only slowly working it into my routine.  I don't "Tweet" often now, but hope to increasingly offer more info, updates, and links. See the link below, and follow me!

FACEBOOK

I've used Facebook for personal networking for some time. I have just added a Mark S. Peterson Photography "Fan Page" which will be updated with news of new work, trips, exhibits, workshops, and events.  Please join my fan page and keep in touch!
